Communication Email is readily available. You have three options: our hotel Hotel Gangjong, our tour group TBA, or a one of several cyber cafes in the area. By far, the easiest, most convenient, and inexpensive site is the cyber cafe. To contact students, you may E mail TBA. Be sure to place the Students name on the subject line
Email -->TBA
I would advise you to be cautious when placing phone calls outside the US. Most of the hotels charge exorbitant rates, as high as $20 a minute if you place a call from your room. This includes the hotel in kathmandu and the Godivari resort in Nepal. If you need to make a call, there are places in Kathmandu where you can make a fairly inexpensive call. Just ask one of the faculty and they can point you in the right direction. Don't forget about the time difference, though. You don't want to get your sweetie out of bed in the middle of the night.
Snail Mail Postage is reasonable, but letters and post cards rarely make it to the States before we return, if they make it at all. You may ship larger items if you wish, but it is expensive and may not arrive in the states for several weeks after your return.
Emergency Contact Information Calling Nepal: From outside the US first dial 011 (do not dial "1" first) and then the numbers listed. Make sure you remember the time difference. Just check the clock above.
