In the Kingdom of Nepal
You will find the people within the Kathmandu valley
the friendliest and most generous people you will ever meet. The feeling
of acceptance and genuine hospitality will touch your heart in a way you
will never forget. Many times have I seen the biggest and strongest "real
men" in the group quietly weeping after a simple welcoming ceremony.
Nearly all who touch the people like we do find they are inspired and
deeply touched. The Nepali lead a stark, difficult life and yet, from a
people who have nothing, we as guests are offered everything.
Hospitality is a tradition in Nepal and it has transcended the level of
polite offerings to a truly moving experience. When you leave you will
wonder how a people so destitute in material things can be so beautifully
rich in spirit. It will draw you back and you will work for these people
harder than you can imagine possible. It is something the casual visitor
to Nepal never experiences. Enjoy it.
